Decoupage usually includes reproductions of well-known Classical Florentine art works, which sometimes maybe religious in nature. In an effort to boost Florence’s economy and promote crafts to tourists, they opened a craft museum in Bargello in 1865. This led to a huge demand for craft products with the increase of tourism.
