Florentine style crafts have an ornate appearance. They are typically gold gilded, or have gold paint applied to resemble gilding. This small treasure box is made in Italy and most likely from the 1950s/60s. This is a Florentine style design, hand carved and brushed with a gold paint. It is a perfect size for your most beloved jewelry. It is an all wooden box with two small hinges in the back to open and close.
This is a found object, it has a lovely worn feel and a few wonderful paint chips throughout that add to its character and charm. It is stamped on the bottom with “made in Italy”.
It measures about 4 inches wide x 4 3/4 inches long, and about 1 5/8 inches tall. The inside depth to put your treasures in is about an inch up from the bottom.
